Here is a favorite spot of mine near Ocate, NM. Horses are very common in the northern New Mexico mountains, some have become farrel, escaping from their owners, they head towards the heavily forested mountains for their escape and new freedom. We have noticed that these escaped horses band together with other wild horses and become physically very strong from traversing the high altitude mountains.
